Written shortly after her move from Cologne, the song captures the contradiction of pursuing a musical dream while missing close friendships and navigating a long-distance relationship. Rather than romanticizing change, Lovis stays with its uncertainty: the excitement of moving forward exists alongside the fear of losing parts of the life that made you who you are.
The single introduces the emotional landscape of Soft Season, her six-track EP, where Lovis moves toward more restrained, introspective songwriting.
