Built around the frustration of overthinking and constantly postponing life until the supposedly perfect moment, the track challenges the habit of waiting for everything to fall into place. Its driving energy and self-aware lyrics make procrastination feel less like a personal failure and more like a shared absurdity worth shouting about.

Blair brings an unusual perspective to the project. After writing songs for internationally successful artists, she learned to produce her own material, taking control of the creative process from the first idea to the finished recording. Drawing inspiration from Blur, Arctic Monkeys, Garbage and Wet Leg, splitxlip balances distortion with pop precision.

Mixed by Mark Needham, “What You Waiting For?” captures a band determined to turn inner chaos into collective release.

Explosive, restless and packed with infectious hooks, splitxlip delivers a shot of adrenaline with “What You Waiting For?”, a single that turns everyday anxiety into loud, unapologetic guitar music. Fronted by Bristol-based songwriter and producer Bailey Blair, the project embraces what she calls “Grit Pop,” colliding crunchy riffs with sharp melodies and the immediacy of alternative pop.
