Produced, mixed, and mastered by acclaimed producer Jon Fridmann—known for his work with The Flaming Lips and MGMT—the upcoming record was crafted at the legendary Tarbox Road Studios. The collaboration marks a significant milestone for the project, highlighting both its artistic ambition and growing presence within the indie-psych scene.
Founded in 2020 by multi-instrumentalist Kendon McGehee, Tarantula Bill was born during the stillness of the pandemic. After years performing as a sideman, McGehee used that period to build a DIY studio, teach himself vocal production and mixing, and develop a sound entirely his own. The result was a project that quickly expanded beyond its experimental origins.
Since then, Tarantula Bill has earned attention through national touring, independent releases, and standout appearances at festivals including Norman Music Fest and Underground Music Showcase. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Tame Impala, and Beck, the project blends fuzzy guitars, cinematic textures, and melodic instinct into a sound that feels both expansive and immediate.
With a new album on the horizon, Tarantula Bill stands ready to transform years of creative evolution into its most ambitious statement yet.
